Hello, my name is Alexis Helmer. I was born in Seattle, Washington, and spent my youth and teenage years in Orange County, California. I started performing in elementary school with my first role as Chef Louis in The Little Mermaid. This opportunity sparked a love for entertaining that has driven my determination ever since.
Currently I am a drama student at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. I am a recent graduate of the Atlantic Acting Studio in Practical Aesthetics. My training has grounded me in clarity, intention, and truthful behavior. I have worked on both classical and contemporary text, dialect work, and have performed in theater productions and student films which have challenged me to stay present and specific. Outside of acting, I work as an operations assistant at the Palladium gym. Balancing school and work as a scholarship student has taught me discipline, independence, and how to build something for myself from the ground up. In my spare time, I love staying active and healthy, whether that’s through weightlifting, running, or baking healthier versions of desserts.
I am drawn to work that feels honest, specific, and a little uncomfortable. Acting for me, is a way to process, to understand, and an opportunity to get lost in someone or something else. It is the one place where nothing has to be filtered, and I can allow others to truly see me.
